Twylla
Published in Paperback by Proteus/st George (July, 2002)
Author: Mark St George
Average review score:

Excellent!
Captures very well a particular time and place. The central character, Twylla, has an appealing sweetness, an innocence, just right for the time. She is all the more compelling when corruption and violence erupt around her. Twylla is a fast, fun read.

A Beautiful Story!
I cried for this young girl. I think she showed a lot of courage to finally face the ghosts of her past. And I loved the ending. Although the story centers around a mystery, with a fair amount of violence, the book is really about people and making the good choices in life. I recommend Twylla to anyone who wants an unforgettable trip in to the real world of both joy and pain.

A Well-Conceived Mystery Thiller
As well-conceived mystery thrillers go, this one has terrific character mosaics and a bittersweet if not surreal romance going for it. I see this girl as your typical high school sweetheart trying to run from her past only to get swarmed by really evil people trying to do her in. She brings out the hero in all us home-boys.

The Wolfpack : A Different Kind of Love Story
Published in Paperback by Proteus/st George (15 March, 2001)
Authors: Mark St. George and Mark St George
Average review score:

Bikers, Biker Gangs, and Open Road Drama
Not since "Easy Rider" and the Hell's Angels have motorcycles (and biker gangs) inspired such a freedom-loving odyssey through the seamier side of mainstream America. The story itself is an eclectic mix of violence, hip tragedy, and storybook romance, where love plays out against a backdrop of crime, drugs, and wild adventure. Candidly written with stark depictions, such as a hauntingly intense gang-rape scene of the girl's mother, and cross-cultural elements that I found very neat and honest, the Wolfpack sets itself above any open road drama I've seen.

AN OPEN ROAD STORY PAR EXCELLENCE

Sex, Freedom, Love and Motorcycles
I thought this book was pretty amazing- a story of freedom, love and motorcycles seething with criminality and the pleasures of the flesh. It's a love/adventure story, but with elements of the Wild West, Mom, and the Mob.

California Lighthouses: Point St. George to the Gulf of Santa Catalina (Lighthouse Series: The Life and History of America's Waterways)
Published in Library Binding by Chelsea House Pub (Library) (February, 1900)
Authors: Bruce Roberts and Ray Jones
Average review score:

These books are good for finding the lights that are in them
There are directions and other info for finding and visiting lighthouses. They do not always show all lights for a given area. The photos are all color. I own 3 of these books. There are not many other guide books out there so if you are looking for guide books these are good to have...

One of the best lighthouse refernce books out there
I am a lighthouse lover and this book is the best refence book for lighthouses of California. It leaves very little out and is quick and easy to read. Perfect for the coffe table or bedside table. I recommend this whole line of lighthouse books to everyone.

A Feast of Savages
Published in Hardcover by Proteus/st George (November, 2002)
Authors: Mark St. George and Mark St George
Average review score:

Mystery/ Crime Thriller
Although this book is a (very good) mystery/crime whodunit, the story reminded me of Camus's "the Stranger". The central character, in 1st-person narration, gets caught up in bizarre circumstances which take him to their existentioal "No Exit" (to borrow from Mr. Sartre). Anyway, the male/female joustings ring true, even if cynical on the surfce. And the character of Blanche Nyquist has stayed with me since I read the book.

The Bad and the Beautiful in So Cal
A gripping and chilling encounter with the bad and the beautiful in Southern California. The style is quick and lean, and covers a lot of ground partially explored by James M. Cain and Ross MacDonald. Particularly memorable is the Palm Springs- Joshua Tree sequence that leads to the inevitable ultimate crime, which strangely enough seems in its own way justifiable.

Hibachi Papers II
Published in Paperback by Proteus/st George (01 June, 1993)
Authors: Mark St. George and Mark St George
Average review score:

Strange Betpartners in and out of the oval office
The cultural and political landscape may never be the same again. The definitive work of Show Biz and Strange Betpartners in and out of the Oval Office. The book is amazingly prophetic in its look ahead from the Clinton first to the second term, with all the right characters.

This guy's funny as hell
St George's portrayal of today's social icons is both hilarious and truthfully thoughtprovoking. He leaves noone out it seems as dr hibachi tells you how he sees the world and although satyrical, most of it's not far from the truth.

A wild ride through a unique city. Showmanship and poetry combined. Visitors will want to take a copy home. Residents will love it!

Very Entertaining
Mark's latest work on the City of Los Angeles paints an accurate picture of the rich history of the city over the past twenty or thirty years. This is a must read for native Angelinos as well as newcomers.

spectacular
I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked the exciting parts like when Sacagawea and Pomp almost died. I also liked the part when the bears attacked them. I hope I will find another book as exciting as this one!

Sacagewea - an inspiring tale
Sacagawea by Judith St. Martin is a well-written historical novel for older children and young adults filled with rich descriptions and characters. Judith St. Martin, a noted children's biographer, used Lewis and Clarks' journals and other original material to tell a good story. My eight and a half year-old daughter says the book really inspired her. It made her think about what it would be like if she lived during Sacagewea's time and traveled with Lewis and Clark, who became her companions. The book is informative and best of all it has that 5 star quality: it makes you wonder and want to know more! We learned that Sacagewea means bird woman. Illustrated maps tracing the Lewis and Clark trail are helpful. My daughter adds that this book is an excellent choice for anybody who likes to stop and think about adventures and people who have made remarkable contributions to our world. This is the opening of a poem she wrote after reading the book. "One day in Shoshone land, an Indian girl was picking berries with her friend. Then a cloud of dust appeared, they knew what that meant. For they feared the white men would come after them." The poem concludes, "We still remember Sacagawea today. My heroine forever, forever and always." The book may inspire you to write about one of your heroes or heroines.
